Taowa Munene-Tardif (Rosetwig) & Debian trademark, libel, wasting money
Debian appears to be wasting money on a trademark case that is doomed to legal failure. One member of the trademark team, Felix Lechner, has resigned in disgust. Therefore, who is advancing this vendetta?
The remaining two members of the trademark team are Taowa Munene-Tardif and Brian Gupta. Today we look at Taowa.
Taowa's contributor profile shows she is little more than a groupie who joined around DebConf17 in Montreal. She was only added to the Debian keyring in 2021.
As far as we can tell, Taowa has never met the volunteer she is attacking. She is not his employer, she is not one of his clients and she has no right to impose herself on him with silly demands. This is the stuff of a toxic woman.
In her Debian communications, Taowa hides her last name. She also uses the aliases Taowa Rosetwig and Taowo. Nonetheless, we didn't have much trouble finding her full name. This says a lot more about Debian than it says about Taowa. When women come to Debian, they never quite feel comfortable. There is a culture issue. There are various other women who hide their full name, like Cryptie of the FSFE, who is really Amandine Jambert at CNIL, an agency of the French Government.
A Debian Developer with over 20 years experience resigned from some of his voluntary duties at a time when he lost two family members.
The Debian trademark gang, Taowa Munene-Tardif (Rosetwig) and Brian Gupta, are now trying to use the WIPO arbitration service to publish defamation and libel of the volunteer, in full knowledge that their case will fail.
If that isn't a toxic woman, what is?
Github profile. Taowa claims to be a research associate of NeuroPoly, Ecole Polytechnique, Université de Montréal. Taowa previously worked with Santropol Roulant. Did she gain her place at NeuroPoly by claiming association with Debian and DebConf17?
